Where are we at? Where are we going?

Oh, hi.

Hey everyone, chapter update time. Let's talk about what's new around here.

#1: The election happened

Obviously it didn't go well. No need to go over all the particular ways in which our county, state, and local administrations are regressing, but it's worth mentioning the election for one important reason:

#2: There's been a lot more interest in our org lately (probably not a coincidence)

We've seen a large uptick in incoming messages as well as new members in the last couple of months. This is a fantastic silver lining to a real shitty situation, so welcome to all of the new faces! Not only is membership and interest up, but more people are turning out to events and meetings, and new projects are happening as as result of the influx of interest. Hell yeah.

#3: Do you like range days? Because we're doing a lot more range days

Thanks to some stellar work from a handful of our Range Safety Officers (RSOs), we're getting out to the range more frequently, and hosting some really valuable training exercises and drills. Additionally, our RSOs have been reaching out to allied community members and getting some outside expertise to help with knowledge and training.

#4: The vetting experience

With increased interest in the org comes more new members, and more new members means more vetting! We're working to improve our vetting process, to make sure that we're getting the right people as well as make sure that we're providing the information new members are going to need/want/use.

More

There's a lot more in the pipeline that either isn't ready to be publicly announced, or that I've just forgotten to mention. We'll be back to talk about that, hopefully soon.
